Tony, born in the Channel Islands, is a self-taught artist who has been painting for over thirty years. He is a firm believer in painting directly from nature, his brisk impressionist style capturing both the brightness and subtlety of his subjects with a unique charm.
Tony Allain has taught painting at the College of Further Education in Guernsey and at the Rose Green Centre of Arts in Sussex, as well as being a demonstrator for many other art groups and societies for several years. He has exhibited with the Channel Islands Visual Arts Festival in Cherbourg, France, as well as having his work featured in more than a dozen solo and group exhibitions throughout the UK and abroad.
Here we see an ability to paint in an impressionist style rarely seen before. His affinity with the subject matter allows him to interpret light and reflection in a most effective and delightful manner.
